FOURTH WIN IN A ROW TAKES MAGPIES FOURTH

Sunday October 18th 2009: Cornwall League Division 1 - St.Blazey 0-3 Penzance

Penzance visited St.Blazey for a Cornwall League Division 1 fixture and again overcame difficulties to win, with a comfortable 3-0 scoreline. Although the Magpies were depleted by several npotable absentees, three new signings (Terri Barberry, Megan Rudge & Amee Ellis) made up the eleven, and they could have won by a much larger margin.
Katy Whittaker opened the scoring from the spot, after a defender caught the ball on the line, the keeper having parried an inswinging corner. Kat Redd then supplied the cross for Leanne Harvey to finish, making it 2-0 at the break.
Redd was again involved with the third goal, she played in Nicki Ellis to complete the scoring. There were plenty of chances to increase the winning margin but Penzance missed some open goals, as they climbed to fourth in the table.
This Sunday, the Magpies host Hayle, with a 2.30 kick-off at Penlee Park.
