Penzance Ladies' Cornwall Cup quarter-final at Truro City went ahead at the second attempt but the Magpies' ten players were eventually beaten 5-1, having trailed 2-1 at the break.
The team had their moments, but were not helped by their numerical disadvantage, against the hosts who had the luxury of substitutes too. They just lacked that extra bit of something to get those goals but Candice Britten did find the net. The Magpies struggled in the second half, with Truro quick at getting the ball down the field at every opportunity. City had a lot of attempts at goal but Grace Rudlin did a good job between the sticks.
The Magpies return to Cornwall League action at Hayle FC on Sunday, kick-off 2.30pm - the league's only fixture that day.
