The 2008 Errea Penzance LFC 6-a-side tournament will take place a week earlier than usual, on May 17th-18th.Teams arrive Friday 16th May for a fun-filled weekend, There are two full days of football, with games to commence at 10am on both Saturday & Sunday (teams to register at 9.30am), with entertainment in the evenings.
Enjoy a tournament by the sea, a competitive but friendly event. Come and experience Cornwall, as well as meeting new friends from all over the country.

Errea continues to be increasingly involved with womens football across the UK & particularly in the South West of England. As well as supplying kit, equipment, training & leisure wear to a growing number of womens & girls clubs, we are also pleased to support events such as these. The success & growing number of which underlines the continued expansion & development of womens football within the South West.

CAMPING & CLUBBING, ETC
Ponsandane campsite will open especially for the tournament, from the friday until people are gone on the monday. The site is ideally placed for supplies....adjacent to Tescos (on your right as you enter Penzance) with The Barn nightclub just round the corner and the beach over the road. The site has male and female loos & showers. Fees per night are: 2.50 per person, 2.50 per tent, 5 pound per large family tent, 1.50 per car, 50p per motorbike. Fees will be collected over the weekend. The Barn, as sponsors of the tournament, will allow free admission on friday, reduced entry on saturday and presentation of trophies on sunday. CUP SEMI-FINALS - Rushden beat penzance on sudden-death pens, Bath beat Cardiff on pens.
FINAL - Bath City1 2-1 Rushden & Diamonds.
Saturday's action saw eight teams qualify for the cup competition, finishing in the top two places in ther group. Cardiff City took Group 4 by a massive seven-point margin over Marazion, Bath City(2) just pipped Rushden & Diamonds on goal-difference in Group 1. Penzance topped Group 3, with Oldland Abbotonians(2) second, Chippenham Town won Group 2, ahead of Bath City1.
Penzance beat Plymouth University(2) with a Clare Boyd goal and put four past Exeter Rangers, with Natasha Mills adding a brace to early goals from Julie Lawrence and Amber Grose. Games with Oldland and Banbury were goalless.
Penzance Magpies beat Bishops Lydeard with a Candice Britten goal, who also scored in the 2-1 defeat to Chippenham. They also lost 1-0 to Newquay Ladybirds and 2-0 to Bath City, whilst Grace Rudlin made a fine penalty save.
Sunday's bad weather failed to dampen the spirits, and the Plate competition saw Ladybirds1, Keynsham and Magpies win their groups.
Bishops Lydeard also made the semi-finals, as the best runner-up. The Magpies were goalless against Milford & Witley but beat Plymouth University with goals from Britten and Kerry-Ann Moxom, and Banbury United 4-0 (Britten 2, Moxom, Emily Hardaker). Magpies went out 3-2 to the Ladybirds1, after twice leading, whilst Keynsham needed penalties to remove Bishops, before winning the final 2-1 against Ladybirds.
In the Cup competition, Penzance beat Marazion with Amber Grose and Lauren Hosking scoring. A 0-0 result with group winners Bath City1 was followed with victory over Bath2, with Boyd the only scorer, to see them through in second. Rushden won Group 1, with Cardiff also going through, whilst Bath City(1) topped Group 2, Penzance taking second place. Penzance eventually succumbed to last year's winners, Rushden, on sudden-death penalties. Bath eliminated Cardiff on spot-kicks, before defeating Rushden 2-1 in the final.
The Errea Player of the Tournament was Penzance's Julie Lawrence, who won a kit bag with full training wear and shin pads. The Errea Most Sporting Team award went to Oldland Abbotonians, who won 3 match balls and 3 training balls.
